The Pasadena Police and Fire Departments will acknowledge the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our community in the performance of their duties in a public ceremony Thursday in the plaza in front of Pasadena City Hall.
“To date, seven Pasadena Police Officers and nine Pasadena Firefighters have lost their lives protecting our community,” Pasadena Chief of Police Phillip Sanchez reminded the city’s residents in a statement Sunday.
“This event is an opportunity for us all to honor Pasadena’s Finest who lost their lives in service to this great community. The ceremony will include the presentation of colors, the National Anthem, 21-gun salute, ringing of the bell, taps, and roll call (reading the names of the falling police/fire personnel),” Sanchez said in the statement.
The May 12 event will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. For more information, or to RSVP, please contact Pasadena Police Lieutenant Tracey Ibarra at tibarra@cityofpasadena.net.
