The man who jumped from the Lake Avenue overpass onto the I-210 (Foothill) Freeway on Sunday night has been identified as Marlon Karl Montgomery, 49, a transient local to the Pasadena area, according to LA Coroner’s spokesman Ed Winter, who said the death has been officially ruled a suicide.
California Highway Patrol Officer M. Garcia reported that just before 10 p.m. Sunday, Montgomery was walking on the Lake Avenue overpass and climbed over the east side gate, onto the highway signs above the westbound I-210.
He jumped from the signs and landed in the 210’s #2 lane, where multiple passing motorists struck and dismembered him. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 10 p.m., Winter said.
Montgomery’s autopsy has been completed, according to Winter.
