A gunfight erupted Monday night in Jackie Robinson Park, but police said apparently there no injuries.
Pasadena police Lt. Pete Hettema reported that about 8:55 p.m. police received numerous calls of shots fired in the northwest corner of the Park, in the 1000 block of North Fair Oaks Avenue near Hammond Street.
Responding officers and a police airship searched the area and initially found neither suspects nor evidence of a shooting.
Officers did stop a suspicious vehicle in the area but determined the car’s occupants had not been involved in any wrongdoing, Lt. Marie Sell said late Monday.
Ultimately, bullet casings were found and witnesses described two suspects shooting at each other. One suspect was described as having driven off in a black SUV.
Locals commenting on Pasadena Now’s Facebook page said they heard eight to 10 shots fired during the incident.
