A 16-year-old boy escaped from gunfire in a broad-daylight attack along Washington Boulevard in Pasadena on Saturday afternoon, police said.
The shooting took place about 3:50 p.m. as the victim was walking west along Washington Boulevard, approaching Lincoln Avenue, Pasadena police Lt. Anthony Burgess said.
An attacker approached in a vehicle, got out and opened fire, according to the lieutenant.
“Approximately three to five rounds were fired,” Burgess said.
The young victim ran from the gunfire and hid, police said. When officers arrived in the neighborhood to investigate reports of gunshots, they encountered the teen.
No further details, including a detailed description of the shooter or the vehicle, were available Sunday afternoon.
