A seven-vehicle wreck sent at least one person to a hospital with serious injuries and prompted the closure of the eastbound 210 Freeway in Pasadena for about two hours on Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.
The crash was first reported about 3:30 p.m. on the eastbound freeway at Rosemead Boulevard.
A witness reported an SUV was being driven “recklessly” and collided with multiple other cars before hitting the center divider and overturning, according to California Highway Patrol logs.
Firefighters pulled one person from the overturned SUV, officials said. The patient was hospitalized with injuries initially described as serious. The person was described as unconscious, but with a pulse, at the scene, logs show.
The CHP issued a Sig Alert for all eastbound lanes as they collected evidence and used a helicopter to take photos of the scene.
The Sig Alert was cancelled shortly before 5:30 p.m.
