A shooting on Thursday night left an 18-year-old man hospitalized with serious injuries, police said.
Officers received reports about 10:35 p.m. that a man had been heard yelling that he had been shot in the area of St. John Avenue and California Boulevard, Pasadena police Lt. Anthony Burgess said.
Responding officers did not find the victim. But as the investigation continued, staff at Huntington Hospital notified police that a gunshot victim had arrived in the emergency room, according to the lieutenant.
The victim, an 18-year-old Pasadena man, was initially admitted with life-threatening injuries but was stabilized after undergoing surgery, Burgess said.
Due to his medical condition, however, the victim was not able to provide a statement, he said.
No suspect description was available, nor was a motive for the shooting.
