Police said a man was shot for unknown reasons on Friday night and detectives are working to identify the suspect.

Lt. Rudy Lemos said police were alerted by the department’s automated Shotspotter gunfire reporting system and 9-1-1 calls and responded to the 200 block of Robincroft Drive at 7:48 p.m.

Arriving officers found a wounded man lying on the sidewalk with a single gunshot injury and provided medical aid. Pasadena Fire Dept. paramedics arrived and the man was transported to a local hospital, Lemos said.

The victim’s condition Saturday morning was not known.

Lemos said police were expected to be at the scene Saturday to attempt to locate witnesses and video of the incident.

The man is described only as being a Pasadena resident in his 20’s.
