A dinnertime kitchen fire sent diners scurrying for safety at a popular Pasadena steakhouse Thursday evening. There were no injuries.
Arriving Pasadena Fire department units called to Alexander’s Steakhouse at 111 N. Los Robles Ave. at 6:04 p.m. encountered heavy smoke, according to City spokesperson Lisa Derderian.
The firefighters were met by the restaurant manager who reported a fire in the kitchen’s hood system.
Pasadena police closed nearby streets as firefighters from a number of local cities responded to fight the blaze.
Patrons were moved away from the burning restaurant by firefighters and paramedics, Derderian said.
The fire was located in the restaurant ceiling and extinguished after about 46 minutes, she reported.
Units from the Arcadia, South Pasadena, San Marino, Glendale and Monrovia Fire Departments provided mutual aid support.
No estimate of the dollar amount of the damage was provided to Pasadena Now.
