AYA’s full-day conference was attended by over 1,200 – 8th to 12th grade boys, parents, teachers, college and community representatives, as well as career professionals providing valuable resources, information, and opportunities to participate in interactive workshops. Workshop topics focused on College & Careers, Financial Literacy and Student Well-Being.
The workshop presenters served as role models, imparting first-?hand knowledge and personal stories of positive decision-?making and professional development. Attendees had the option to choose from over 70 workshops.
Rey M. Rodriguez, JD, Assistant Chief Counsel of Legal Affairs with Walt Disney Studios Motion & Pictures International was featured as Keynote Speaker, and Sid Garcia, ABC7 Reporter returned as Master of Ceremonies for the 8th year.
Adelante Youth Alliance is a non-profit organization whose mission is to educate and empower youth to develop their academic, career and leadership potential. AYA is located in the Madison neighborhood and serves as a community resource center, offering services such as tutoring, mentoring and activities that build community to support youth development. AYA is excited to begin preparations for their young women’s conference taking place in May 2020.
