Auditions for Season 15 of “America’s Got Talent,” which suspended taping in the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on March 14 because of the coronavirus emergency, have resumed online.
The NBC show was supposed to have resumed taping in Pasadena through March 20, but on March 14, the auditions had to be shut down after authorities banned large gatherings and events due to COVID-19.
Wednesday, AGT producers announced they were reopening auditions online for everyone wishing to show off their talent while stuck at home.
“We have exciting news and are re-opening online auditions! You still have a chance to be featured on the show this summer,” AGT said. “While you are safe at home and practicing social distancing, why not show us what you’ve got!? Film a video of yourself showing your personality and your talent. Who knows, maybe you could end up in front of the judges and on TV this summer!”
AGT advised everyone to follow “all of your current local government regulations and restrictions” relating to COVID-19 when preparing and submitting audition materials.
Season 15 will feature judges including Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel and Heidi Klum. “Modern Family” star Sofia Vergara has also joined for the first time, alongside show host Terry Crews.
“I’m so happy to join my new family on AGT,” Vergara said in a statement in February. “This is a new and exciting next chapter for me and I’m extremely proud to be the first Latin judge on the show. I can’t wait to watch all the talent and have fun with all you guys!”
The panel was revamped after the competition series filled its two vacant chairs following the departure of Gabrielle Union and Julianne Hough in November.
