The Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA), Pasadena Chapter has announced its endorsement of Councilmember Terry Tornek for Mayor of Pasadena.
The ANCA, Pasadena Chapter’s support of Councilmember Tornek’s candidacy is based on his vision and plan for the City of Pasadena and for his strong support of the Armenian American Community.
The ANCA, Pasadena Chapter said in a statement it believes that Councilmember Tornek will continue to improve on insuring diverse and equal representation of all ethnic communities within the city’s government and urges the Armenian American community as well as the community at large to participate in the upcoming election on March 10, 2015.
At the same the organization announced its endorsements for the following candidates for Pasadena City Council and Pasadena Unified School District Board of Education for the primary elections on March 10:
Pasadena City Council:
District 2 – Margaret McAustin (Incumbent)
District 6 – Steve Madison (Incumbent)
Pasadena Unified School District:
School District 2 – Roy Boulghourjian
School District 4 – Patrick Cahalan
School District 6 – Lawrence Torres
The ANCA, Pasadena Chapter said its endorsement procedure for all candidates running for political office entails a thorough evaluation of the candidates’ submitted written questionnaires and interviews conducted by an Election Committee. Recommendations are made by the Election Committee and the ANCA-Pasadena Chapter Board endorses the most qualified candidates, it said.
