Assembly Democratic Caucus Chair Endorses Dr. Phlunté Riddle for California State Assembly District 41

Dr. Phlunté Riddle said she has secured the endorsement of Assembly Democratic Caucus Chair Rick Chavez Zbur for her bid to represent District 41 in the California State Assembly.

In a statement from Riddle’s campaign, Zbur said Riddle is dedicated to advocating for working families and is committed to addressing critical issues facing the Foothill and High Desert communities.

“I am proud to endorse her for the State Assembly,” he said.

Zbur is known for his environmental advocacy and efforts to advance civil rights; he said he trusts Dr. Riddle’s ability to safeguard reproductive freedoms, address homelessness, and support first responders.

Dr. Riddle thanked Zbur for his support and highlighted his leadership in advocating for underserved communities.

“I am proud to receive the endorsement of Assembly Democratic Caucus Chair Rick Chavez Zbur,” she said. “Assemblymember Zbur has been a leader in the fight to advance the civil rights of LGBTQ+ people and underserved communities everywhere.”

Riddle has earlier garnered widespread support from various organizations and political figures, including Planned Parenthood Advocates of Pasadena & San Gabriel Valley, labor unions, and elected officials such as Secretary of State Shirley Weber and Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager.

Dr. Riddle has been in public service for nearly 30 years, including leadership roles at the Pasadena Police Department and as a Board of Juvenile Hearings Commissioner.

She has also served as Assemblymember Chris Holden’s District Director, collaborating on initiatives to expand educational opportunities and enhance public safety measures. She holds advanced degrees in psychology and organizational leadership.

Assembly District 41 includes Pasadena and eastern Los Angeles and western San Bernardino counties, encompassing diverse communities such as Altadena, La Cañada Flintridge, and Claremont. The district is represented by Assemblymember Chris Holden who is term-limited in 2024.
