Assistance League of Pasadena is reopening its Craft Fair Gift Shop on Wednesday, March 10, for you to shop from a wide assortment of beautiful and unique handcrafted items.

All items sold in this carefully curated gift shop are meticulously crafted by men and women over the age of 50.

By shopping at Craft Fair, you help to financially support the senior exhibitors, as well as show your appreciation for their trade or craft.

As the Assistance League’s senior philanthropy, the Craft Fair Gift Shop has operated as a consignment shop for handmade items since 1955 and has kept the art and skill of handcrafting alive.

When the store opens, you’ll see baby clothes, toys, jewelry, kitchen linens, baby dolls, floral wreaths, paintings, holiday decor, and other gifts crafted by seniors in their spare time. The seniors keep most of the proceeds each month, and along with supplementing their income, the gift shop offers them the opportunity to engage socially.

As an all-volunteer nonprofit organization, the Assistance League puts caring and commitment into action through philanthropic programs in the Pasadena community. Member-volunteers are dedicated to ongoing support and a long-term presence in the community through hands-on involvement and innovative philanthropic programs.

Assistance League of Pasadena volunteers have consistently provided quality service to the Pasadena area since the 1940s. From 2019 through 2020, over 130 members contributed 12,300 hours to serve nearly 4,800 children and adults in the community.

Purchase items in the Craft Fair Gift Shop either by dropping by or by calling (626) 795-4991. The shop is located at 820 E. California Blvd., at the corner of Hudson Avenue and California Boulevard. The parking entrance is from Hudson.

To maintain a safe environment inside the Gift Shop, the number of customers is limited to four at a time. If more than four customers are in the shop, a volunteer will post a sign that prohibits entry until someone has left. Shoppers are required to wear masks when in the shop. Disposable masks are available for customers who forget theirs.

Due to the direct threat to the health and safety of vulnerable volunteers and employees, customers claiming a medical exemption from wearing a mask will not be allowed in the shop.
