A Pasadena man was arrested Saturday night near the intersection of North Lake Avenue and East Villa Street after he allegedly attacked and knifed two men “because they are homeless.”

According to authorities, police had been called to the scene at 8:34 p.m., responding to reports of men fighting.

One victim, a 50-year-old man who suffered a non-life-threatening stab wound in the abdomen and to the back of right leg, was taken to a local hospital for medical care. The other man, a 60-year-old, was treated at the scene for puncture wound to back of left leg, police said.

The victims told officers that the suspect has confronted them regularly over the past several years because they are homeless. Saturday evening, the suspect assaulted them with a knife.

Police located and arrested a suspect, whom they have identified as Alejandro Dunnick, 46, a Pasadena resident. Dunnick was booked in the city jail on suspicion of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon, authorities said.
