A 43-year-old woman died and two men were injured when a car veered off the Foothill Freeway (210) in Pasadena Sunday morning and slammed into a light pole, the California Highway Patrol said.
The accident happened just before 7 a.m. on the freeway east of Pasadena’s Lincoln Avenue, the CHP said in a report by City News Service.
CHP added the woman, from Bakersfield, was driving a 1992 Honda Accord eastbound during heavy rainfall when she lost control of the vehicle. The car first hit a raised asphalt curb before it struck the light pole.
The woman was rushed to the Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena but was pronounced dead on arrival.
CHP would not immediately identify the victims, but said one of the men, also from Bakersfield, is 32 years old, and was complaining of pain to one of his legs. The other is 23 and suffered a laceration on the forehead.
CHP is seeking information about the crash to help in the investigation. Anyone with information may call the CHP’s Altadena Area Office at (626) 296-8100.
