Authorities used tranquilizers to sedate a bear and return it to the forest after it spent much of Monday perched up in a tree in a residential neighborhood in Pasadena.
The adult female bear was spotted around 7 a.m. in a tree in a backyard in the 1100 block of North Los Robles Avenue, Pasadena police Lt. Sean Dawkins said.
Police and Pasadena Humane officials responded to the scene, followed by representatives of the California Department of Fish and Wildlife officials, police said.
The bear was shot with a tranquilizer by Fish and Wildlife officials and eventually fell out of the tree, according to police.
The bear, which was not injured in the fall, was recovered and returned safely to a local wilderness area, according to officials.

Please do NOT kill the bear. It may come down from tree if he smells food ,or nightfall when less people are around. Thank you. He is acting naturally by climbing a tree & has not hurt anyone.
