A fire broke out early Wednesday in an underground electrical vault at the Hyatt Place Hotel in Pasadena, leading to a power outage across the area and evacuation of the hotel, according to Pasadena Fire Department Public Information Officer Lisa Derderian.

The blaze was contained to the vault and put out shortly after firefighters arrived around 2:26 a.m., Derderian said. No injuries were reported.

The hotel is located at 399 E. Green Street at the intersection with S. Los Robles Ave.

The fire caused power outages along Green Street, including at the hotel and Paseo Colorado shopping center. Pasadena Water & Power crews restored electricity to the area, but the Hyatt remained without connected power Wednesday morning due to damage from the fire. Emergency generators were providing electricity to the building.

Four fire engines, two truck companies, a rescue ambulance and a battalion chief responded to the call. Pasadena police also assisted, according to Derderian.
