Foul Play Suspected After Body of Woman Found at Hahamongna Watershed Park in Pasadena

[UPDATED] Police initially suspected foul play after a jogger discovered the body of a woman at Hahamongna Watershed Park in Pasadena early Tuesday, authorities said.

The grim discovery was made just before 8 a.m. near the picnic table area at the park, just southeast of the intersection of Oak Grove Drive and Foothill Boulevard, according to Pasadena Police Department Lt. Anthony Russo.

“Responding officers approached the victim to render aid and immediately realized the victim was deceased,” police said in a written statement. She was estimated to have been between 35 and 45 years old.

“Preliminarily, foul play is suspected as the victim was found with visible physical injuries. The location of occurrence is still under investigation,” according to the police statement.

“This is an active investigation and detectives are currently following up with all leads. The motive remains unknown and there are no further details at this time.”

Homicide detectives shut down the park as they conducted a “suspicious death” investigation, Russo said. An investigator from the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner was also summoned to the scene.

No further details were available as the investigation remained in its early stages.
