Police received a call at about 12:22 a.m. from an unknown informant regarding a pressure cooker that was on the sidewalk in plain view in the 300 block of East Green Street, authorities said Friday morning.

Out of an abundance of caution the Los Angeles County Sherriff’s Bomb Squad responded and determined the item was in fact a pressure cooker and that it was not an explosive device nor did it contain explosive materials.

Additionally, police said there were no criminal threats made or threatening calls received in relation to the item.

“The Pasadena Police Department would like to take this opportunity to remind and encourage members of the public to notify police if they observe suspicious items and/or suspicious activity,” Lt. Vasken Gourdikian said in a statement in connection with the incident. ” Remember: If You See Something, Say Something.”
