Pasadena’s Armory Center for the Arts will honor its cherished board member, community leader, and unwavering champion of the arts Gale Kohl, at its annual gala on May 18. Kohl, owner of Pasadena’s Gale’s Restaurant, has selflessly provided immeasurable support and leadership to the nationally recognized nonprofit art center since 2008.

The evening will be hosted by veteran Dodgers broadcaster and Kohl’s dear friend Jorge Jarrín. The gala event will be held at the Pasadena Convention Center’s historic 1931 exhibit hall. This will be Armory’s first sit-down table gala hosted outside its Old Pasadena campus in over 20 years.

Guests will enjoy live entertainment, an open bar, multi-course meals, guest tributes, a wine raffle, and after-dinner dancing. All proceeds raised will support the Armory’s art education and exhibition programs. Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are available at armoryarts.org/gala.

With roots dating back to 1947, Armory Center for the Arts’ mission is to nurture its community and its young people by creating, learning, and presenting art to advance equity and social justice. Throughout the Armory’s history, the organization has been known for exhibiting forward-thinking contemporary artists, a belief that “artists are educators,” and is driven by a mandate to protect equitable access to art by providing learning opportunities tailored to its community’s evolving needs.
