Two adults, male and female, and a female infant were taken to a nearby hospital after they were struck by a small passenger vehicle traveling northbound on Lake Avenue near Boylston Street in Pasadena Sunday night.

Pasadena Fire Department spokesperson Lisa Derderian said the victims were walking eastbound in the Lake Avenue crosswalk when the car traveling in the No. 2 lane struck them.

Derderian said the vehicle’s bumper struck the woman who went over the hood and then landed on the windshield. A witness told Pasadena Now the car’s windshield was cracked by the impact.

The man was holding the infant when he was struck. The impact caused the infant to be thrown approximately 15 to 20 feet from the collision area.

Both adult victims were able to walk unaided to the sidewalk after the collision.

When Pasadena firefighters arrived on Engine 33, they saw the baby in the father’s arms appearing to be uninjured, Derderian said.

Rescuers determined all three victims had major injuries and transported them to a trauma hospital. The driver of the vehicle, a older man who has not been identified, did not have a medical complaint.

Officers from the Pasadena Police Department were in the area moments after the collision and were investigating the incident and diverting traffic.
