Police arrested an armed carjacking suspect and known gang member after following a LoJack signal to a Pasadena liquor store on Saturday night, authorities said.

Officers picked up on the vehicle anti-theft system signal shortly before 9:20 p.m., Pasadena police Lt. Anthony Burgess said. They were soon notified by dispatchers that the vehicle had been taken in an armed carjacking in Palmdale earlier in the day, and that the driver was considered armed and dangerous.

Police followed the signal to A-1 Liquor, at the corner of Los Robles Avenue and Woodbury Road, according to the lieutenant.

Michael Allyn Glover, 41, of Pasadena was spotted standing next to the car, according to police and Los Angeles County booking records. He was ultimately detained without a struggle.

Both Glover and the recovered vehicle were turned over to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for further investigation, since the original carjacking took place within the agency’s jurisdiction, Burgess said.

Glover was a known Pasadena gang member, Burgess added.

According to L.A. County Superior Court records, Glover has a lengthy criminal history in the county dating back more than two decades.

At the time of his arrest on Saturday, he had two separate criminal cases pending against him, records show. One case included charges of vandalism and trespassing, while the other included charges of burglary, possession of drug paraphernalia, receiving stolen property and trespassing. Both cases were initially filed last year.

Prior conviction in the county include possession of a gun by a convicted felon in 2019; drug possession in 2018; possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of drugs for sales in 2015; grand theft auto in 2011; petty theft and resisting or obstructing police in 2007; drug possession in 2005; possession of drugs for sales in 2004; grand theft and domestic battery in 2002; and public intoxication in 2000, records show.

The suspect was being held in lieu of $100,000 bail pending his initial court appearance, records show.
