Chris Holden, a current Pasadena Councilmember and a candidate for State Assembly in the 41st district, has received the backing of the majority of the district’s delegates to the Democratic Party, a precursor to receiving the party’s formal endorsement at its state convention next month.

“I am gratified to receive the support of local leaders from every city in the district, as a vital first step to gaining the party’s official endorsement in February,” Chris Holden. “I’m running for State Assembly to get California working again, and am pleased that the Democratic Party stands with me to get that done.”

Holden received the support of 95 percent of the area’s party delegates, who are responsible for recommending local candidates for endorsement by the state party. This means that Holden will be the sole candidate for the 41st Assembly district recommended for endorsement on the consent calendar at the party’s state convention on February 12 in San Diego.

The newly drawn 41st Assembly district includes Atladena, Claremont, La Verne, Monrovia, Pasadena, San Dimas, Sierra Madre, South Pasadena, Rancho Cucamonga and Upland.
