Christina Mauser Scholarship Award Now Open for Submissions

The Rose Bowl Institute, in collaboration with the Christina Mauser Foundation, has opened the application period for the Christina Mauser Scholarship Award, which extends financial support to four exceptional young female athletes distinguished by their outstanding sportsmanship, leadership, and civic virtues.

Applications will be accepted until March 1.

Established in 2021, the Christina Mauser Foundation, a donor-advised fund of the Pasadena Community Foundation, was created by Matt Mauser in honor of late wife’s enduring legacy to support women and girls in sports through scholarships and other financial aid.

Christina Mauser was a renowned student-athlete and educator. Notably, Mauser served alongside basketball luminary Kobe Bryant as assistant coach at the Mamba Sports Academy before the tragic helicopter crash that claimed both their lives and those of seven others, including Bryant’s daughter Gianna, on Jan. 26, 2020.

The Christina Mauser Foundation will collaborate with the Rose Bowl Institute to confer scholarships across four distinct categories in the 2024 iteration. Recipients will include a student from Edison High School, Christina Mauser’s alma mater, along with candidates from California, nationwide, and the Hispanic community.

Beyond commemorating the exceptional life of Christina Mauser, the scholarship endeavors to empower young female athletes in their pursuit of extraordinary accomplishments.
