There will be no City Council meeting on Monday in observance of Presidents’ Day.
But there are some important issues on the horizon.
The council is scheduled to meet with the Pasadena Board of Education on March 1.
Responding to calls to reopen schools at last Monday’s meeting, Mayor Victor Gordo said the council would discuss the matter with the school board at the joint meeting.
Police oversight could also come back to the council in the coming weeks. On Wednesday, the council’s Public Safety Committee (PSC) discussed some of the rules and regulations for the new Police Oversight Commission.
The committee laid down the framework for prospective commissioners nominated by local organizations and attendance requirements.
According to the ordinance establishing the commission, three commissioners will be chosen by local organizations.
