Currently, the councilmember for District 3 is John Kennedy, for District 5, the councilmember is Jessica Rivas and for District 7, it is Vice Mayor Andy Wilson.

According to the city staff report, candidates for City Council must be a resident living in the same district from which he or she is seeking office. The nomination period for the upcoming elections is proposed to open on February 14, 2022 at 7:30 a.m. and close on Friday, March 11, 2022, at 5:00 p.m.

If the incumbent councilmember does not file nomination papers, or fails to qualify as a candidate by the March 11th deadline, the period to nominate any qualified person other than the incumbent is extended to Wednesday, March 16, 2022.

The General Municipal Election would be held only if a candidate will not receive more than 50% of the votes in the primary election.

Those who will get elected will sit in the council for four years beginning December 12, 2022.
