There’s good news for people looking to rehabilitate their homes.
The city is offering two Zoom meetings on its Home Enhancement Loan Program (HELP).
Interested homeowners can attend the meetings at noon Feb. 24 and 6:30 p.m. Feb. 25.
As part of the program, homeowners living in single-family dwellings can receive up to $100,000 at 3% simple interest with a 20-year term and deferred payments for necessary repairs and rehabilitation.
“The Home Enhancement Loan Program will provide loans to low-income, single-family, owner-occupied households for necessary repairs and rehabilitation to bring their house up to code, eliminate critical health and safety concerns, and increase efficiency and accessibility, thereby enhancing livability and preservation of the home,” according to the city’s website.
The city has partnered with Neighborhood Housing Services of Los Angeles County (NHS) to administer the program, which is federally-funded through the HOME Investment Partnership Act (HOME).
Applications will be accepted beginning March 1 on a first come first served basis.
