Pasadena Fire Chief Calvin E. Wells has directed the activation of Red Flag parking restrictions effective at 12:01 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, within the Pasadena city limits in response to National Weather Service predictions of high winds in the area overnight.

A Red Flag warning signals that critical fire conditions are expected. The combination of high winds and dry trees, shrubs and other fuels could create extreme fire danger.

To allow for potential access of fire engines and evacuation of residents, parking is restricted on narrow and/or winding roads within Pasadena’s hillside, urban-wildland interface areas where related signs are posted.

A cancellation notification will be issued when conditions warrant it.  For more information, including where signs are posted, visit www.cityofpasadena.net/fire/red_flag.
