Pasadena reported 17 additional cases and two additional deaths on Sunday bringing the city’s totals to 82 deaths from 848 local cases of the Coronavirus.
The new numbers were reported as city officials continue to deliberate on plans to open more businesses, including restaurants, despite the denial of a variance from the state that would have allowed city officials to control the pace of reopening.
That denial keeps the city on the county schedule. County officials say they plan to reopen on July 4.
L.A. County is in stage two of the five-stage Roadmap to Recovery and until the final stage five is reached, county health officials say they will continue to attempt to slow the spread of COVID-19 to prevent an overwhelming surge of COVID-19 cases at healthcare facilities.
