City Vaccine Clinic for Young People Aged 12 to 15 Set For Tuesday

The Pasadena Public Health Department will provide COVID-19 vaccines for children 12 to 15 at Blair High School, 1201 S Marengo Avenue on Tuesday, May 25. Families of students may also be vaccinated, city health officials said.

This clinic is an outdoor walk-up facility. Students and their families are advised to check for weather conditions before proceeding to the vaccination site.

The advisory said staff from the Public Health Department will be providing first doses of the Pfizer vaccine.

Previous vaccination clinics for youth were held earlier this month at John Muir High School and at Victory Park for Pasadena High School students and their families.

Since May 13, California residents 12 and older have been declared eligible for vaccinations against COVID-19. Pasadena residents are advised to contact their healthcare provider or local pharmacy for vaccine availability. You may also check www.MyTurn.ca.gov to view a list of Pasadena and other nearby locations offering COVID-19 vaccinations and schedule a vaccine appointment.

Anyone who does not have internet access or who needs assistance scheduling an appointment using the MyTurn website can contact the Citizen Service Center at (626) 744-7311 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

A parent or legal guardian will be required to accompany minors to their vaccine appointment to provide consent.

The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is the only COVID-19 vaccine authorized for children 12 and older, the Health Department said.
