Cool, Cloudy Weather Expected in Pasadena This Week

Pasadena will experience a cool and cloudy weather pattern for much of this week, according to the National Weather Service.

Strong onshore flow and a deepening marine layer will bring low clouds and fog to the area, with high temperatures expected to cool significantly to below-normal levels for this time of year by Tuesday.

Light rain and drizzle will fall in the coming days. Precipitation is expected after midnight tonight and before noon on Tuesday. Later in the week, there is a 20 percent chance of showers before noon on Thursday, followed by a slight chance of showers after midnight on Thursday night and before noon on Friday.

Much cooler temperatures are in the forecast, with the National Weather Service undercutting previous predictions.

The coolest day of the short-term period looks to be Wednesday, when upper 50s and 60s will be common across the city.

Looking ahead to the end of the week, a break in the action looks to occur for Thursday before another much colder trough digs south into the region between Friday and Saturday.

Today: Patchy fog before noon. Otherwise, cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 76. Calm wind becoming south southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight: Areas of drizzle after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 56. South southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Tuesday: Areas of drizzle before noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 69. Calm wind becoming south southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 49. South southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm after midnight.

Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 68. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph.

Thursday: A 20 percent chance of showers before noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 67.
