Pasadena City Councilmember Felicia Williams will be named the Elected Official of the Year for Supervisorial District 5 by the Los Angeles County Business Federation (BizFed) at its third annual Bizzi Awards Ceremony.

The event, to be held on Friday, March 22, at the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles, will recognize 18 area honorees for their extraordinary business leadership.

Williams was among the awardees who were celebrated for their effective leadership in each of the county’s five supervisorial districts.

She is being honored for her role in helping the city expand good job opportunities for local residents in life sciences, tech, and construction careers and her support for small businesses during the pandemic and recovery.

The awards also recognized one business or business organization in each district.

BizFed presented special awards for excellence in advocacy, policy-shaping impact, common-sense leadership, and community engagement.

Williams is a native Pasadenan with over 20 years of experience in public policy and finance. She owns a consulting firm that works with municipal clients in Los Angeles County and the San Gabriel Valley on financing infrastructure and economic development projects.

Williams currently represents District 2 on the City Council.

The Bizzi Awards are a tradition of BizFed, known for honoring the region’s top business advocates each year. The awards are likened to the Oscars and Grammys of the business world. BizFed Founding Chair David Fleming, who has ensured that voices representing all industries are heard and heeded, received the second annual Richard Riordan Legacy Award.

Tracy Hernandez, Founding CEO of BizFed, expressed hope that recognizing these movers and shakers would inspire more members of the business community to engage in policy issues that impact employers and help great jobs stay and grow in California.

The nominees were vetted by selection committee members with deep roots in all five supervisorial districts, representing BizFed’s massive network of nonprofit association members and investing members..
