There are 194,700 ballots cast in L.A. County that are still uncounted, according to Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/City Clerk Dean Logan.

“This estimate has been adjusted based on valid vote-by-mail ballots received in the mail [on Monday] and the estimated number of ballots returned at vote centers and official drop boxes on Election Day,” Logan said in a prepared statement.

The uncounted votes include 99,500 vote-by-mail ballots,

87,000 conditional voter registration ballots, 2,000 provisional ballots, and 6,200 miscellaneous ballots.

In Pasadena, the frontrunners have already declared victory in city and school board elections.

In the mayor’s race, City Councilmember Victor Gordo has amassed 36,048 votes to incumbent Mayor Terry Tornek’s 29,700 votes. Gordo declared victory last week.

Tornek acknowledged Gordo’s victory at Monday’s City Council meeting, saying he planned to ask Gordo to lead the Pledge of Allegiance, but Gordo was delayed when the pledge was taken.

Last week, Gordo thanked his supporters.

“I am incredibly honored by the tens of thousands of voters who placed their faith in me. Their message that we need a city government that puts their interests first is clear and I won’t let them down.  I will represent the best interest of all residents of our city,” Gordo said.

Leaders in local school races remain way out in front of their respective opponents.

With 6,567 votes, Jennifer Hall Lee leads Wayne Hammack and Mike Crowley in District 2. Hammock follows with 4,088 votes and Mike Crowley has 3,869 of the ballots cast.

Board of Education President Patrick Cahalan has 6,433 votes, with opponents Scott Harden with 3,643 votes in the District 4 race.

In District 6, Tina Wu Fredericks has 4.931 votes. Priscilla Hernandez has 3,819 votes, Crystal Czubernat has 3,433 votes, and Milena Albert has 1,156 of the ballots cast.

The county Registrar-Recorder’s Office will continue to accept vote-by-mail ballots postmarked by Election Day and received through Friday, Nov. 20. These ballots are not included in the estimate. All outstanding ballots are verified before being tallied.
