Councilmember Tyron Hampton will reintroduce the community to leaders at City Hall during his community meeting from 5:15 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27 at John Muir High School, 1905 Lincoln Ave., Pasadena.

“This community meeting will provide First District residents with an opportunity to acquaint/reacquaint themselves with the people who run the departments that comprise the City of Pasadena. It will also provide an opportunity for First District neighbors to reconnect,” Hampton told Pasadena Now.

Hampton will open the meeting with brief remarks and will introduce City Manager Miguel Márquez and City Attorney Michele Bagneris.

Department directors (or their representatives) of each City department will be present at the meeting.

The department representatives will participate in the latter portion of the meeting which will utilize a “round-robin” format.

During the “round-robin” portion of the meeting, smaller groups of residents will interact with smaller groups of city staff during 10 minute rotations. Each member of the city staff group will briefly present to the group of residents and at the end of the 10 minute rotation, the city staff group will move on to the next group of residents until each group of residents has had a chance to interact with each city staff group. The “round-robin” format is intended to be interactive, educational, and fun.

As we all begin to engage more, after a long period when we have all had far fewer in-person engagement opportunities, Councilmember Hampton wants residents to walk away from this meeting with a clearer sense of how the City works and who the people are who run the City departments. He also wants to encourage relationship building among residents and with city staff.
