Dr. Lucy Jones Stirs Up Science and Faith at Inspiring Voices Event

St. Edmund’s Episcopal Church in San Marino will host the speaker series, Inspiring Voices, with a special presentation by Dr. Lucy Jones, a prominent seismologist and environmentalist. Inspiring Voices was initiated in 2021 as a tribute to Jeane Edwards, a longtime parishioner whose posthumous financial bequest has funded the series. Jeane’s daughter, Sara Edwards, and Reverend Jenifer Chatfield envisioned the series as a platform to bring together people from diverse backgrounds to foster enlightenment and inspiration through engaging discussions.

Dr. Jones is a familiar figure to many in California, having been a reassuring presence in the media during earthquake emergencies. Her unique ability to communicate complex scientific information clearly makes her an ideal speaker for an event aimed at bridging the gap between science and religion.
