El Nino Car Tips

We have been hearing for weeks that El Niño is on its way and Southern California is going to get a visit. The rain will be beneficial but a deluge of rain like El Niño can cause troubles. So how can you make sure your car is in tip top shape before El Niño arrives?

Check your tires. If it is time to get your tires checked or the tread is looking worn, now is the time to replace them. Having a tire that can handle all that rain is important.

Brakes are also very important when it comes to wet conditions. If you are having any issues with your breaks or have heard a squeaky noise when pressing them it may be time to get them replaced.

Windshield wipers are one of the most important aspects of getting your car ready for El Niño. Without a quality windshield wiper it can become almost impossible to see when you are driving which can lead to accidents. A wiper specially formulated for rainy conditions may be useful this winter.

Also be sure to have your sunroof drains checked and your cowl drains checked and cleared- almost like cleaning your rain gutters. Otherwise water will leak into your car and create other issues such as mold and water damage to electrical components such as very expensive computers.
