Fewest Arrests At Rose Parade and Rose Bowl in Game in Recent Memory

Published on Monday, January 3, 2022 | 6:41 am

Pasadena police reported Sunday they made zero arrests during the 2022 Rose Parade and cited only two people during the Rose Bowl game.

The men detained at the Rose Bowl were both cited for trespassing —one for entering the stadium grounds without a ticket and the other for running onto the field without authorization. The gate-crasher was also cited for use of a false identity.

87,842 people attended the game in the Rose Bowl.

Earlier police said 4 were arrested on New Year’s Even along the parade route, 3 for public intoxication and one for fighting with a police officer and resisting arrest.

The numbers are lower than those arrested or cited at the last Rose Parade and bowl game.

Over the 2020 New Year’s holiday, Pasadena police reported 10 arrests, mostly for public intoxication, along the parade route and at the Rose Bowl game.

In 2019, police arrested 11 over the same period.
