Fight Between Gang Members Leads to Weapons Arrest

Police called to the scene of disturbance Thursday night came upon a number of known gang members fighting in the area of restaurant in a strip mall in the 2500 block of E. Foothill Blvd.

As the officers arrived some of the suspects scattered. Witnesses said about one dozen police units and a police helicopter arrived quickly.

One of the men involved in the fight was reportedly seen by police throwing an object under a parked car. That object turned out to be a loaded semi-automatic handgun.

The fight was broken up by arriving officers.

There were no shots fired and no injuries reported.

Police said there was one arrest. Parolee Stephen Anthony Nobles, 26, of Fontana, was arrested for being in possession of a firearm. The weapon itself was discovered to have been stolen.

Nobles is being held at the Men’s Central Jail in Los Angeles in lieu of $185.000 bail.
