Residents of a Pasadena senior living facility were briefly evacuated from their homes Thursday afternoon as firefighters made quick work of a blaze that ignited inside one of the apartments, authorities said.
The fire broke out about 1:45 p.m. at Pasadena Villa Senior Living, 1811 N. Raymond Ave., according to city spokeswoman Lisa Derderian. Facility staff evacuated all the residents after a fire alarm sounded, and no injuries were reported.
Derderian said the fire was confined to a single unit and initially appeared to have involved a mattress.
With the exception of the apartment that burned, the rest of the facility remained habitable, she said. The residents were expected to be allowed back in once firefighters finished flushing all the smoke out.
The cause remained under investigation.
