[Updated]  A 10:19 p.m. 2nd alarm blaze significantly damaged a one-story home in the 1000 block of Ellington Lane in West Pasadena Thursday night, according to city spokesperson Lisa Derderian.

There were no injuries suffered by residents of the home. During the incident, an elderly woman who lives nearby was transported to a local hospital by Glendale Fire paramedics for further observation due to “several factors.”

Two dogs were safely evacuated.

Video shot by a KCBS-TV helicopter showed towering flames shooting up through a gaping hole in the roof.

The fire originated in a sub-level storage to the rear of the home, according to initial reports.

Four adults were displaced, according to Derderian.

“Glendale, South Pasadena, San Gabriel, Alhambra and L.A. County supported our firefighting efforts,” Derderian said.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation Friday morning.
