On August 8-21 2012, Young Adult, Lia Lohr, Youth, Taylor Altice, and Rev. Allison Mark departed for a two week Medical Mission and Advocacy Delegation to Davao in the Philippines. The group is led by the United Methodist Church Cal-Pac Conference, in joint partnership with the Filipino Migrant Center, Filipino American Health Workers, and Anak Bayan. As part of a larger delegation of twentyfive people comprised of pastors, medical workers, young adults, and people of faith, it is FUMC delegation’s
hope to take part in touching the hearts of those they meet through delivering medical supplies and advocating for their basic rights to safety, sanitation, education, and nutrition, and transform their hearts into ones of greater knowledge and diligent compassion through hearing their stories.

The three are so grateful for the love, support, and prayers of their church family. The generosity of the church family has moved them tremendously. They ask that church members continue to support the work of the delegation by being with them in Spirit! Join them for a Report Back Session September 23rd. In the mean time, interested members can follow the stages of their trip on their website: ALTPhilippineTrip2012.com.
