Five Acres announced on that long-time supporters, Nicole Rasic and Trish Gonzales, will co-chair Five Acres 2022 fundraising gala.

This year’s theme will be “Starry Starry Night: Five Acres Annual Gala.”

“The theme ‘Starry Starry Night’ is our community’s biggest opportunity to help make the children and families of Five Acres wishes come true. We all need to show up to ensure these children know they can still believe and hope in their dreams and wish upon the stars,” said Gonzales. “We really want this year’s Gala to be the best.”

As one of its two largest fundraising events of the year, this is Five Acres’ first major gala since before the pandemic. This year’s gala, which will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2022, will take place outdoors on the sprawling property of a historic Pasadena estate. To go along with the “Starry Starry Night”  theme, tall hedges will be draped with twinkling lights, glowing lanterns will float in the pool, and children’s wishes on stars will greet guests as they enter the property to the evening’s festivities. The catering will be provided by Three Sisters Catering of South Pasadena and all guests will enjoy an evening with gourmet food, cocktails, live entertainment and auction.

“It is definitely a fun and glamorous event. It’s one of the highlights of my year,” said Rasic. “Having to cancel the past two galas, we are especially looking forward to gathering again and supporting all that Five Acres does for the kids and our community. Over the past two years, Five Acres has faced countless hurdles, navigating through the pandemic and maneuvering to meet new federal mandates, that the need is more urgent than ever.”

Owner of Ramsgate Floral Design in Culver City, Rasic began volunteering with Five Acres in high school in the 1990s. Six years ago, she became involved again as a committee member, Gala sponsor, and now as a co-chair. “We don’t get to pick our family. As one of seven children, I was blessed and lucky to grow up with a huge network of support.  I am a champion for Five Acres so all families can realize the same blessings and opportunities I was afforded,” said Rasic.

Gonzales, who is a Sr. Account Manager for Newfi Lending, also comes from a large family and became involved with Five Acres with the hopes of helping these children find the same love and support she received from her family. “It is a privilege to be involved with such an amazing organization that does so much for the community,” said Gonzales.

Sponsorship opportunities are available at https://5acres.org/ or individuals can call Brandon Ito, associate director of development, at 626-390-8453 or email bito@5acres.org.
