Foothill Family Service Welcomes New Board Members

Paul Salvaty and David Unanue of Pasadena, and Anita Lawler of Altadena further their commitment to build brighter futures for children and families

Foothill Family Service announces the recent addition of three new members to its Board of Directors – Paul Salvaty and David Unanue of Pasadena, and Anita Lawler of Altadena.

Anita Lawler has worked in the banking industry for over twenty years, fifteen of which have been in management and leadership roles. She currently serves as Senior Vice President / Branch Manager at Luther Burbank Savings in Beverly Hills. Anita graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a BA in Psychology. She is an active volunteer with Catholic Charities, Girls Incorporated Santa Barbara, and Planned Parenthood. Anita resides in Altadena with her husband Vince.

Paul Salvaty, a Partner at Glaser, Weil, Fink, Jacobs, Howard, Avchen & Shapiro, LLP, is an experienced trial attorney whose practice is focused on the business disputes with an emphasis on complex commercial litigation, antitrust litigation and class action defense. Paul earned his BA from the University of Notre Dame, and his JD from UC Hastings College of the Law. In addition to serving on the Foothill board, Paul also serves as Vice President of the Board for the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles. He works extensively on a pro bono basis for numerous organizations, and volunteers at the St. Francis Center Soup Kitchen near downtown LA. Paul lives in Pasadena with his wife Elizabeth and three children.

David Unanue is Senior Vice President of Capital Group Private Client Services. He graduated from Lafayette College, with a BA in Government and Law. He earned his JD from the St. Louis School of Law, Washington University. David previously served for eight years on the Regional Board of Teach for America, and with Volunteer Hand Together, an organization that provides direct aid relief to Haiti. David resides in Pasadena with his wife Laura and their three children.

The Foothill Family Service Board of Directors provides guidance and oversight to further develop the organization in its pursuit to “build brighter futures for children and families”. In helping to raise funds for the agency, Foothill Family is able to continue their devotion in providing excellent mental health and social services for at-risk children and their families.

Foothill Family Service was founded over 85 years ago to provide counseling to at-risk children and families in the San Gabriel Valley. Programs include Mental Health and School-Based Counseling for Children, Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment, Domestic Violence Prevention and Treatment, Early Child Development Programs, Services for Pregnant Teens and their babies, Family Counseling, and Youth Development. Last year, approximately 23,233 children and their families benefited from Foothill Family Service’s life-changing services.
