Former Claremont Mayor Karen Rosenthal Endorses Dr. Phlunté Riddle for California Assembly District 41

Dr. Phlunté Riddle, a candidate for California Assembly District 41, which includes Pasadena, has received an endorsement from former Claremont Mayor Karen Rosenthal.

A statement from Riddle’s campaign said the former mayor highlighted Dr. Riddle’s commitment to fostering a sense of community wherever she serves.

Riddle was with the Pasadena Police Department for nearly 30 years, moving through the ranks as a patrol officer, detective, and community liaison. She became the first African American female sergeant, lieutenant, and adjutant to the Chief of Police in the history of the Department.

“Dr. Phlunte Riddle will be a fierce champion for the people of Claremont and the San Gabriel Valley,” Rosenthal said in the statement. “She will fight tirelessly to ensure that all of our neighborhoods are places where we can find opportunity, safety, and community. I am proud to endorse her.”

Riddle thanked Rosenthal for the endorsement and said she hopes to continue working with Rosenthal to support the growth and prosperity of the Foothill communities.

“Former Mayor Karen Rosenthal is a pillar of the Claremont community and I am honored to have her support in this campaign,” Riddle said.

Riddle has also garnered support from various organizations and individuals, including the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) in California, the National Women’s Political Caucus CA, and elected officials and community leaders.

Dr. Riddle also served as Assemblymember Chris Holden’s District Director. She holds advanced degrees in psychology and organizational leadership and possesses a strong background in law enforcement and community advocacy.

Dr. Riddle is also a graduate of California Command College and a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.

Riddle currently leads her own consulting company, where she works with executives to solve organizational challenges and implement leadership development strategies.

Assembly District 41 encompasses several cities and communities in Los Angeles and San Bernardino Counties.
