Former Dodgers Pitcher and Pasadena Resident Wants Another Chance in the Major Leagues

Pasadena resident and former Dodgers Pitcher Trevor Bauer is asking Major League Baseball to give him another chance.

The former Cy Young award winner appeared on Fox News Channel last week in his first television interview since MLB suspended him amid allegations that he sexually assaulted and beat a woman in 2021. 

Bauer was never charged and his accuser settled dueling defamation lawsuits out of court last year. 

Bauer denied the allegations in the interview. Bauer now says the incident has changed him

“I’ve done a lot of reflecting … and made a lot of changes in my life to address that. I’m not having casual sexual relationships anymore, for example,” Bauer said according to a story appearing on KTLA Channel 5. 

Lindsay Hill claimed Bauer choked her into unconsciousness, punched her repeatedly, and had anal sex with her without her consent during two sexual encounters at his Pasadena residence. 

The pitcher said the two engaged in rough sex at her suggestion and followed guidelines they agreed to in advance.

Bauer signed a three-year, $102 million contract with the Dodgers in 2021 one year after winning the National League Cy Young Award the previous year.  

MLB placed the Pasadena resident on administrative leave in July 2021 and was suspended for more than 300 games. The suspension was later cut to 194 games. The Dodgers released Bauer after he served his suspension. Bauer next pitched in Japan after no MLB team signed him. 

He said he regrets the way he handled the assault allegations in the media, calling his response “immature” and driven in part by a desire to “stand up” for himself after suffering bullying as a child.
