Foundation Seeks Feedback on One Arroyo Trail Design Website

The One Arroyo Foundation has launched the One Arroyo Trail Demonstration Projects website, designed to allow the community to monitor efforts to restore, connect and preserve Pasadena’s historic Arroyo Seco.

In 2020, the foundation retained RJM Design Group to design two demonstration projects. RJM’s designs will focus on Arroyo Seco connection points at Hahamongna Watershed Park’s Woodlands Loop and the Colorado Street Bridge Streamside Walk. Hahamongna was settled by Tongva-Gabrielino Native Americans.

The projects are the first step toward achieving the foundation’s goal of creating a unified Arroyo Seco trail.

“This website will allow the community to see the project as it evolves and to be part of the process by providing feedback in the Community Voice section,” foundation officials said in a prepared statement, adding RJM and the foundation “encourage public dialogue to ensure maximum opportunity for all community members to obtain information and be involved in the development of the One Arroyo Trail Demonstration Projects.”

RJM has over 30 years of open space planning and landscape architectural design experience. Their approach to design includes carefully considering the existing site character, community needs, and sustainability so that the trail improvements are natural and low impact.
