One person died, one was injured and 11 displaced after a house fire in the 600 block of Del Monte Street early Friday evening, the Pasadena Fire Dept. reports.
The victim has not been identified. An investigation into the cause of the fire and circumstances of the victim’s death is underway.
Arriving fire units found smoke was pouring from the second floor windows, eaves and attic vents of the two story apartment building, and it was on the second floor where the victim’s body was discovered, authorities say.
Fire units were assisted by the Pasadena police dept. in evacuating occupants from the burning building, according to reports.
One resident complained of smoke inhalation and was treated at the scene. The displaced residents are being assisted by the Red Cross. The Fire Dept. has not yet released further details.
