Police were seeking two men who allegedly robbed a gardener of his leaf blower as he was working in a Pasadena neighborhood on Wednesday morning, officials said.

The crime occurred at about 10:50 a.m. in the 400 block of Avenue 64, according to Pasadena police Lt. Anthony Russo.

A 24-year-old Pasadena man was gardening in the front yard of a home when two men approached in a white pickup truck, Russo said.

One of the men got out of the truck, removed a commercial leaf blower from the victim’s truck, and began making off with it, he said.

“The victim yelled at the suspect and attempted to get his leaf blower back,” Russo said. The second suspect also got out of the truck and pushed the victim to the ground. The robbers then fled with the leaf blower, described as an Echo 500-series, valued at several hundred dollars.

The victim suffered no significant injuries, Russo said.

Police described the suspects as a Latino man between 5 feet 3 inches and 5 feet 5 inches tall, of medium build, with short black hair and a beard. He wore a tan shirt and black pants.

He was accompanied by a second man described as 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, heavy-set, wearing a white T-shirt and sunglasses.

They drove a white Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup equipped with a Z71 off-road package, officials said.
