A ruptured gas line in Pasadena on Monday morning prompted officials to evacuate a two-story apartment building and advise other neighbors to shelter in place, authorities said.
The natural gas leak was reported at about 8:45 a.m. at 999 Locust St., at Catalina Avenue, as a construction crew was working at the property, said city spokesperson Lisa Derderian.
The residents of the apartment complex were evacuated, she said. Residents of neighboring homes were advised to stay inside as officials dealt with the leak.
