Goodbye Bullpen

This is the final edition of the Monday Morning Bullpen and yes it’s being published on a Thursday.

Yes, sadly the old Bullpen is going away.

Here’s the reason. Everybody who contacts me after they read the Bullpen says the same thing.

“Love Gumbo this morning.”

“Great Gumbo.”

Arghhhhh — of course I’m happy it’s well read, but it’s the Bullpen, not Gumbo.

It stands on its own.

Bullpen was designed to cover government meetings and provide some simple commentary on those proceedings.

Political Gumbo is snarky, written to spark discussion, entertain, anger, spark discussion again, and yes, inform.

But now Gumbo has become so well read that people see it when it’s not there.

So starting this Monday, I will do the Monday Pot of Gumbo pre-City Council that performs much like the Bullpen.

But it won’t be exactly the same.

It will be spicy and challenging and include some predictions.

Then on Tuesday-Wednesday (as the writing Gods allow), there will be an additional pot of Gumbo. No leftovers, a brand new pot of the usual tell it like it is brand.

That said, I appreciate everyone that has taken the time to read the Monday Morning Gumbo … er Bullpen.
